Myrtle Beach, SC, May 17, 2022 – MYR is setting new records with passenger traffic during this busy spring travel season.
At MYR, total passenger traffic during April 2022, which includes both arriving and departing passengers, totaled 282,784 compared to 214,991 in April 2021, an overall increase of 32% over the airport's previous best April on record. The number of people arriving on flights, or deplanements, totaled 143,761 compared to 108,304 in 2021.
“April has kicked off what is sure to be another historic spring season at MYR," said Scott Van Moppes, Director of Airports. "Spring is a wonderful time to visit the Grand Strand and we're pleased to see more and more travelers in shoulder-season months, a trend that will continue to support our air service development efforts as we build cases for increased, year-round service on our air carriers."
