Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) has been recognized by the airline industry for its outstanding marketing and business development efforts with two Routes Americas 2020 Marketing Awards at a February 5, 2020 ceremony in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber/CVB won the “Destination” award in recognition of the Grand Strand. The Destination Award champions the marketing support provided by destinations to their airline partners and acknowledges tourism authorities whose marketing activities have had a real impact on their future network development plans.
The Horry County Department of Airports team, which manages the Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), won both the “Under 4 Million Passengers” and “Overall” category in recognition of MYR’s innovative route development and marketing services for new and existing carriers. This is the second time in three years that MYR has been named the winner in the “Overall” category. As the winner of this award, MYR automatically advances to the World Routes Marketing Awards in Milan, Italy on September 5, 2020.
